About China 30.60 Series
China has promised that its carbon dioxide emissions will peak by 2030 and that the country will become carbon neutral by 2060. The China 30.60 seminar series is intended to support German companies in China in their decarbonization efforts, present practical approaches to reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency, and to provide a platform for exchange of best practice from businesses for businesses.
China is the world’s centre for the manufacturing and deployment of clean energy. The total renewable energy capacity in China exceeded 1,000GW in 2021, with hydro, wind and solar as the main clean power sources. China aims to increase the share of non-fossil fuels in primary energy consumption to around 25% by 2030, compared with 16% in 2020. The country aspires to be a model of green transition and is looking to have 80% of its total energy mix come from non-fossil fuel sources by 2060.
German businesses are increasingly keen to use electricity generated from renewable sources for their operations and production sites as part of their efforts to reduce their ecological footprint and to become carbon neutral. Therefore, they have started to invest more in clean power, e.g. in renewable in-house generation and in green electricity purchase agreements.
The China 30.60 series is organized by German Centre Beijing and AHK Greater China / econet china.
